Community of Practice for Health Equity

Preface
As health equity community are bigger, health equity fellows need a platform to build strong community. Using information technology can support community activities to share fellows’ experiences, achievements, advocacy, and to bound fellows. In this digital era, the latest knowledge are available through websites and other platforms in actively and communicatively. This knowledge sharing is conducted by interactive system and able to trigger communication amoung people.
The concept of teleconference and webinar is one of solutions in the current digital era, where people who have limited time and distance can be facilitated to conduct online meetings or online training in the same time but different location. Infact, webinars can be developed as a platform for dissemination on various public health policies to stakeholders, communities, as well as medical professionals. It is necessary to prepare supporting facilities and infrastructure, in terms of human resources, trainers, supporting staff, and adequate equipment to conduct the webinars.
Collaboration between The Equity Initiative and Center for Health and Policy Management, Universitas Gadjah Mada in building Community of Practice for Health Equity, facilitate this online training to support health equity fellows to utilize this facility to enhance their technical capability using teleconference and webinar platform. In the future, fellows can build community of practice in their own countries to support health equity using information and communication technology.

- Enhancing technical ability to participate and conduct teleconference.
- Able to organize seminars, discussions, training, or meetings supported by the teleconference and webinar.
